Summary: Delhi’s new Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s son and mother-in-law praise her 30 years of hard work. Gupta vows to fulfill BJP’s promises and lead with honesty under PM Modi’s leadership.

Delhi’s newly sworn-in Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, has created history as the first woman from the BJP to hold the post. As the first-time MLA takes on her new role, her family, including her son and mother-in-law, expressed immense pride in her journey.

Her son, Nikunj Gupta, credited her relentless three decades of hard work for her success. He also praised the BJP’s decision to appoint a woman as the head of the Delhi government.

“It is good that a woman has been given this opportunity. We are confident she will shoulder her responsibility very well. Her 30-year-long dedication has finally brought success,” said Nikunj Gupta.

Reflecting on her grassroots journey, he recalled, “She started from DUSU (Delhi University Students’ Union) and built everything on her own. We are grateful to PM Modi, the party, and everyone who made this possible for her.”

“She Will Handle It All,” Says Mother-in-Law

Rekha Gupta’s mother-in-law, Meera Gupta, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing her daughter-in-law’s ability to balance home and public life.

“She used to take care of both her house and society. She worked for the people of Shalimar Bagh tirelessly for two years. Hard work is in her nature… She will handle it all. We are all very happy,” Meera Gupta said.

Rekha Gupta’s Vision for Delhi

Grateful for the trust placed in her, Rekha Gupta called her appointment “a miracle, a new motivation, and a new chapter for women in politics.”

“If I can be the Chief Minister, it means all doors are open for women. Anyone who has been corrupt will be held accountable for every rupee,” she stated in an interview with ANI.

She acknowledged the huge responsibility ahead and reaffirmed her commitment to delivering on the BJP’s promises.

“I thank PM Modi and the BJP leadership for their faith in me. I will fulfill my responsibilities with utmost honesty. My first priority is to complete all the commitments our party made. Secondly, all 48 of our MLAs will work as ‘Team Modi’ to ensure effective governance,” she added.

Gupta admitted she never imagined becoming Delhi’s Chief Minister, but vowed to serve the people with integrity.

The BJP’s Historic Comeback

Alongside Rekha Gupta, six other ministers took oath in her cabinet:

  • Parvesh Sahib Singh (Deputy CM)
  • Ashish Sood
  • Manjinder Singh Sirsa
  • Ravinder Indraj Singh
  • Kapil Mishra
  • Pankaj Kumar Singh

The BJP’s return to power in Delhi after 26 years marks a significant shift in the capital’s political landscape. The party won 48 out of 70 seats, breaking the 10-year dominance of AAP, which managed to secure only 22 seats—a stark contrast to its near-sweep victories in the previous two elections.

The Congress failed to win a single seat for the third consecutive time, further cementing its decline in the capital.

With Rekha Gupta at the helm, Delhi now awaits a new chapter of governance under the BJP and PM Modi’s leadership. Will the party fulfill its promises and deliver on key reforms? The coming months will set the stage for what’s next in Delhi politics.
